Foreword
Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), an Australian public research university located in Melbourne, merits an international prestige for being a world leader in Engineering, Development, Computer Science and Information Systems, Business and Management,as well as Communication and Media Studies.
Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), a Chinese public research university located in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, acquires a global reputation for being one of the top 250 universities of the world, excelling in Aircraft Design, Dynamics, Mechanics, Manufacturing, Automation and Machining, imposing a great influence on China's aerospace industry.
Academic alliance between RMIT and NUAA has long been established and maintained for more than ten years. Our mutual passion of collaboration ignitedfrom the conception and realization of the student exchange program, and has been growing ever since. And currently, a dual degree program has been brought together by the joint effort from both universities.
Last year, NUAA’s president, Prof. Hong NIE visited RMIT, and further collaboration agreement was reached then. Consequently,a bilateral agreement, accelerating a profound collaboration in terms of staff exchange, student exchange and joint workshop, etc., marks the arrival of the new era of collaboration between RMIT and NUAA.
The collaborationhas been kindling the pursuit of knowledge, the desire of academic and cultural exchange in everyone involved. It is hoped that the 2017 NUAA-RMIT Joint Workshop blossoms to be enjoyable, memorable and fruitful to all the collaborationbeneficiaries and be ever flourishing in the new era of collaboration between RMIT and NUAA.
