应我校航空学院机械结构力学及控制国家重点实验室高存法教授的邀请，澳大利亚皇家墨尔本理工大学Pier Marzocca教授于2019年5月22日访问我校，并做了题为“Impact Through Collaboration: Activities of the Aerospace and Aviation Discipline at RMIT University”的学术报告。报告介绍了RMIT在复合材料与结构的智能诊断等方面的研究概况，以及该方向在识别飞机操纵面颤振方面的应用。报告内容丰富、精彩生动，对我校相关科研工作具有借鉴作用。同时，教授还结合自己多年的研究经历，与现场听众分享了研究心得和体会。

  访问期间，Pier Marzocca教授与高存法教授就复合材料与结构的智能诊断等领域研究的进一步合作进行了深入的探讨和交流。此次交流访问对于增强我校对外开展学术交流以及合作研究将起到积极的促进作用。

报告人简介：

Dr Pier Marzocca is a Professor and Associate Dean of Engineering (Aerospace Engineering and Aviation Discipline) at RMIT University since 2015. Prior to joining RMIT Dr. Marzocca was Professor in the Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering Department at Clarkson University where he remains active as a Research Professor. He received his doctoral degree in 2001 in Aerospace Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Italy, and worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Virginia Tech. Professor Marzocca has been working in the field of aerospace engineering since 1996 and specializes in aeroelasticity and unsteady aerodynamics, structural dynamics and controls, structural health monitoring, diagnostics and prognostics of aerospace systems, and unmanned aerial vehicle systems. He leads/co-leads a number of research projects, totaling more than $12M USD in funding from several government agencies, including DST, ARC, DSI, NSF, AFOSR, ARMY, ONR, NASA and industries, including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, GE and Pratt & Whitney. Dr. Marzocca’s received several awards including the Ralph R. Teetor Educational Award and the Forest R. McFarland Award from SAE. He is an Associate Fellow of AIAA, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Aeronautical and Space Sciences, Associate Editor of ASCE Journal of Aerospace Engineering, and Journal of Thermal Stresses, and author and/or co-author of over 400 archival papers.
