报告内容摘要:

This seminar highlights the globally established sustainability requirements and context, examining how aviation is currently embracing these demands and addressing future challenges in both research and education. The unique approach to this systemic and rapidly evolving challenge—with a focus on the future and the Net Zero 2050 goals—involves integrating the operational requirements of airlines with the necessary aircraft supply and design synthesis. This integration is essential to operate effectively over the next twenty years and to develop a new paradigm for truly sustainable aircraft design. This represents a shift from the more traditional technology-push approach to a sustainability-driven pull, which is already influencing aircraft and propulsion design. The seminar provides valuable insights into current successes in sustainability-driven aircraft design processes and associated technology developments, considering the actual use and operation of aircraft within airline fleets and the broader air transport infrastructure, ultimately aiming to add value and improve quality of life. It also presents forward-looking perspectives on shared challenges, key collaboration areas, and emerging opportunities in sustainable aircraft technologies.
