报告内容简介:
报告1: Digitization and Data Processing of Strong-Motion Earthquake Accelerograms
1) Current techniques of digitization and data processing of earthquake strong-motion accelerograms were first developed in the late 1960s and early 70s at California Institute of Technology in California (Trifunac and Lee, 1972). At that time, the only available technique was manual hand digitization.
2) With the development of image processing techniques in the 70s, an automatic digitization and data processing systemon a mini-computer was developed (Trifunac and Lee, 1979).
3) Following the development of personal computer (PC) and inexpensive scanner, the current digitization and data processing system can be performed on a PC using a digital scanner (Lee and Trifunac, 1984).
4) In the 21st century, digital accelerograms are now widely available, thus eliminating the digitization step. But the data processing part is still necessary. With advances in digital signal processing in electrical and computer engineering, the data processing part has been continuously evolving, improving the performance of the entire system.
5) Currently, all new recoding instruments are digital. However, it takes time to record a large numbers of strong-motion accelerograms, and as of now, most of the strong-motion data available has been recorded in analog form.
