This talk is to present a critical review of the dominant analytical methods for the thermoelastic analysis of stress fields in the vicinity of corner points. Basing on the direct integration method, a technique for deriving one-to-one relations between the stresses and displacements on the boundary of a deformable solid is presented. Making use of these relations allows for the unified solutions of the problems formulated in terms of stresses, displacements or with the mixed-type boundary conditions of any kind.
Professor Yuriy Tokovyy is currently the head of the department of solid mechanics at National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He obtained his PhD (Mechanics of Solids) at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 2003. In 2013, he received his Doctor‐of‐Sciences (Mechanics of Solids) degree from the Ministry of Science and Education of Ukraine. The main research interests: direct and inverse problems of thermomechanics of nonhomogeneous and thermo‐sensitive solids, analytical and semianalytical methods of mathematical physics. He published over 220 scientific papers, a number of critical reviews and encyclopedia essays. He is a Board member of several scientific journals (Journal of Thermal Stresses, Bulletin of the Donetsk University A, Mathematical Methods and Physico‐Mechanical Fields). In 2012 – 2013, he was engaged as a section editor of the “Encyclopedia of Thermal Stresses” (Springer, 2014).
